Throat Chakra Guided Meditation Script

This Throat Chakra Meditation is part of the Art Funky Chakra Balancing & Meditation Series, designed to help you connect with your energy centers through visualization, sound, and inner awareness.

In this meditation, you’ll open and heal your Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) — the center of authentic expression, communication, and truth.

Starting the Meditation

Before you begin, ensure that you will not be disturbed. Gently check that your spine is straight and that you’re sitting comfortably. Be kind to yourself and open the mind to a state of curiosity.

As you progress through this meditation, it’s okay to have thoughts as they will come! Watch as they enter your mind, and then gently let them go. Bring your gentle, nonjudgmental attention back to this meditation when you find your thoughts have taken you elsewhere. 

Let go of expectations and allow yourself to settle into this moment. This meditation. 

 

 

 

 

Focus on the Breath

Close your eyes, or close them halfway, with a soft, unfocused gaze. 

Bring your awareness to your breathing. 

Notice the rise and fall of your chest, the natural rhythm of your breathing. Sit with your breath for a few moments.

Breathe in, deeply, first into your belly and then into your chest. Inhale as much as you can. 

Slowly begin to release the air, starting with your chest, then your belly. 

Breathe in, deeply once more, into your belly. Then your chest. Inhale as much as you can until you can expand your chest cavity no more.

Slowly begin to release the air, starting with your chest, then your belly. 

Breathe in once more, deeply, through your nostrils, into your belly. Then expand your chest as much as you can.

Slowly breathe out, breathing through the mouth. Release the air from your lungs first, followed by the air in your belly.

Close your mouth, and breathe normally through your nose for a few breaths.

 

 

 

 

Turquoise Light Visualization

In the calmness of this meditation, as you breathe quietly, allow yourself to become very still. 

In this stillness, become aware of your throat and neck. The very place where you breathe in air every few moments to keep you alive and communicate.

The throat chakra is center of communication where you use your voice.

Take a moment to thank your voice for authentically speaking its truth and communicating lovingly to the world.

Imagine a light blue button of light spinning in your throat. This light is strong, steady, and makes a perfect circle.

As you breathe in, the air moves into your belly, then your chest. As your chest rises, watch as this pale blue light grows bigger.

Breathe in again, first into your belly, and then into your chest, and watch as the light grows a little bigger, still.

With each breath you take for the next few moments, grow this light bigger and bigger until it encircles your entire body.

With this beautiful, vibrant blue light all around you, it forms a shield. You look out and everything around you has a tint of blue: the sky, the clouds, the trees, the grass, or if you’re inside, the walls of the room you’re in, the furniture, your hands and feet…nothing negative can penetrate this shield. But you can let out positive energy.

 

 

 

 

Journey with the Dolphins

This vibrant blue light surrounds you as you envision yourself on a beach near a turquoise sea. The water and waves gently break against the smooth sand, and the sun is just beginning to rise for a new day. 

As the water glistens in the new morning sunlight, you see a dolphin fin in the distance. It’s just above the water.

The fin gets closer, and soon you notice more of them. They are moving closer to the shore in a triangle formation. 

The dolphin in the front comes completely to the surface, and extends her face in the air. She looks right at you and seemingly smiles.

You smile back and she beckons you with a gentle nod. She urges you to join her in the water. 

You understand this communication. You understand the joy of a refreshing swim, and the freedom to swim all over this inlet near the sea as you please.

You join the pod of dolphins and swim alongside them, feeling the water glide smoothly all around you. It is cool and refreshing, cleansing your mind, body and spirit. 

When you go underwater, you can hear the sound of the dolphins communicating with each other, whistling, chirping, clicking. You listen, knowing that their communication will take you somewhere significant.

You swim alongside the pod for awhile. Your swimming muscles remain strong and you don’t get tired: your blue shield protects you and infuses you with vibrant energy. The dolphins, the new day, the sun and water all work in tandem to rejuvenate you, and fill you with the positive energy you need to keep up with the dolphins.

As you swim, you feel free. There is only this moment with the dolphins, the splashes of water, and their intermittent beautiful sounds.

 

 

 

 

The Sacred Island of Sound

Soon you notice that you’re coming to an island. Together with the pod, you swim under a rock formation with a cave-like entrance, but you can see the sky beyond it. As you swim past, it opens up into a turquoise pool surrounded by beautiful orange rock formations pointing up toward the sky, some covered with pine trees. It is high tide, the water is at its highest, enabling you to easily swim over to a large rock and climb out to dry off and explore.

You climb up the rock while the dolphins swim playfully in the turquoise pool below. They carry on with their happy sounds, reminding you that it’s important to find joy in the little things, the sweet moments that eventually make up an entire lifetime. 

Smiling, you ascend higher and higher until you reach the top of the tallest rock. From this vantage point, you can see the sea in every direction, stretching to the horizon. 

You sense that this place is sacred. A place that the dolphins have allowed you to see because you trusted them. You trusted your intuition. You listened.

As the sun continues to rise in the morning sky, it lights up the rocks in a special way: the sun beams peek through the rocks at your back and form a line that dances down one of the rock faces. It settles upon a symbol, illuminating it. A gentle wind picks up, whistling through the trees and rocks. Instinctively you know it is a special frequency: the frequency that opens your throat. As the sounds play in the wind, the dolphins echo in harmonious tones below, forming a throat chakra choir that bathes you in protective light and sound. 

The symbol, illuminated by the sun, is an ancient symbol of OM, the primordial sound of the universe.

Instantly you feel your throat opening and healing. The sea blue light that surrounds you is infused with a sense of intuition, and healing energy.

As you look at the illuminated dolphin symbol, you are compelled to join the choir. Breathing into your belly, you first let out an EEE sound, in tandem with the wind, in harmony with the dolphins. As you all sing together, your voice makes other notes, ahs and ohs as appropriate. At first, you don’t notice the dolphins growing silent to listen, and the wind growing softer.

Soon it’s just your voice, and everything around you respectfully listens as your voice grows stronger, clearer, and steadier. 

You feel any emotional wounds melt away and heal. Your authentic voice grows stronger each passing second, with the vibrations attuning your throat into perfect balance.

 

 

 

Throat Chakra Affirmations

In a moment, you will hear some affirmations. You can imagine yourself singing them or you can just repeat them silently to yourself. It’s all up to you.

🩵 You sing out: my voice is heard.

🩵 Then you sing, “I express myself openly.”

🩵 In the next moment, you sing, “I am creative.”

🩵 Then you sing, “I express truth with love.”

🩵 You sing out: I speak with clarity.

🩵 Then you sing, “I say what I mean.”

🩵 Still singing, you belt out: “I am listened to.”

🩵 And then, “I listen to others.”

🩵 You continue to sing, “I am supported.”

🩵 And then you sing, “I sing my own song.”

As you finish your song, the dolphins start to chatter once more, and the gentle wind picks up, echoing your refrains.

 

Return & Integration

You climb down the rocks as the sun moves higher into the sky. It no longer illuminates the dolphin symbol. Instead, it shines upon the pool below where the dolphins happily swim, splash and laugh.

You laugh too as you jump back in, ready for the adventure back to the beach where you started. You listen to sounds of the pod, absorbing some of the wisdom of the dolphins, giving you more insights into your own journey. 

Soon you return to shore, and sit on your beach towel. The dolphins pop up periodically and you know they are saying good-bye so they can continue on their way. But what a joy they have been! You understand that you are more able to lovingly express your truth, guided by your inner voice. 

In this way, you are almost ready to return to your day, to the world that awaits you and your special gifts.

Keep your eyes closed or half-open as you near the end of this meditation. 

Bring your awareness back to your breath. Allow yourself to feel the in and out rhythm of the rise and fall of your breath.

On your next inhale, allow the fingers and toes to wiggle. Gently shift your arms or legs as needed. 

When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Stretch your body as needed.

Open your eyes fully as you’re ready to continue with your day.
