Third Eye Chakra Guided Meditation Script
Introduction
If you haven't seen the accompanying third eye chakra balancing post, please do so as it will describe in detail what this meditation is about, as well as how to open your third eye chakra. Â
During the course of this meditation, you will imagine yourself doing creative things. All humans are creative. YOU are creative, even if you might not think you are. During this guided meditation, you’ll imagine that you are, in fact, creating a work of art. This will be a wonderful exercise in non-judgment, as you’ll want to let go of judgement of your capabilities.
Before we begin, ensure that you will not be disturbed. Gently check that your spine is straight and that you’re sitting comfortably. Be kind to yourself and open your mind to a state of curiosity.
As you progress through this meditation, it’s okay to have thoughts – they will come! Watch as they enter your mind, and then gently let them go. Bring your gentle, nonjudgmental attention back to this meditation when you find your thoughts have taken you elsewhere.
Let go of expectations and allow yourself to settle into this moment. This meditation.
Guided Third Eye Breathwork
Close your eyes, or close them halfway, with a soft, unfocused gaze.
Bring your awareness to your breathing. Notice the rise and fall of your chest, the natural rhythm of your breathing. Sit with your breath for a few moments.
Breathe in, deeply, first into your belly and then into your chest. Inhale as much as you can.
Slowly begin to release the air you’ve inhaled, starting with your chest, then your belly.
Breathe in, deeply, into your belly. Then your chest. Inhale as much as you can until you can expand your chest cavity no more.
Slowly begin to release the air, starting with your chest, then your belly.
Breathe in once more, deeply, through your nostrils, and then expand your belly. Next, expand your chest as much as you can.
Slowly breathe out, breathing through the mouth. Release the air from your lungs first, followed by the air in your belly.
Close your mouth, and breathe normally through your nose for a few breaths.
Beginning at the top of your head, imagine a deep blue, almost purple light moving from the top, down slowly, reaching the sides. As it moves, the muscles at the top of your head relax. The light settles on your forehead for a moment, relaxing it, and infusing it with this blue chakra energy. Your forehead grows soft. Next, your eyebrows relax when the blue light touches them, followed by your ears.
This light moves down to your eyes, and nose, relaxing all the muscles around them. Now to your cheeks. The light softens your jaw, and relaxes your lips.
This indigo light continues to your neck, relaxing all the muscles in and around it. Then it moves to your shoulders, relaxing the muscles at the top, in front and in back, touching your upper back. Your entire head and shoulders bask in this blue light, and you feel your whole body start to relax.
This beautiful blue light continues to move down your chest, relaxing the muscles in front, and toward your middle back. It continues down to your abdomen, relaxing the muscles there and in the middle to lower sections of your back.
Now it moves down your spine and lower abdomen, with all the little and big muscles softening and relaxing.
Then this indigo light continues down the top of your thighs and lower backside, every muscle and tendon along the way relaxing.
Continuing down your legs, the light relaxes your knees, calves, ankles and feet.
Visualization of Indigo Light Energy
In this relaxed state, imagine that you are deep in the forest. You are surrounded by trees, beautiful green foliage, and a gentle wind makes the leaves sway. Short-growing shrubs with blue flowers grow in patches around you. Smaller purple flowers peer out from the forest floor, as well as blobs of blue and green moss. Mushrooms grow on fallen logs. The ground is soft beneath your bare feet, covered with pine needles, and leaves from the last autumn. In the trees, you hear various birds singing. The sun’s rays streak through different branches, illuminating the forest floor in wispy spotlights.
Where you’re standing, you feel the soft, fine dirt beneath your feet.
Though it is a warm day, the earth is cool to the touch.
You close your eyes to listen to the sounds and breathe.
With your eyes closed, you feel the earth’s energy move up to your feet, legs and lower abdomen, activating your root chakra with beautiful red light. Then the energy moves up to your sacral chakra, emanating orange. Continuing up, your solar plexus chakra lights up in brilliant yellow, followed by your heart chakra with bold green. The energy continues rising up your body, to your throat chakra, where it lights up with a turquoise light.
The energy from the earth continues up to your third eye, where it pauses to activate this chakra. Though your eyes are closed, you feel your third eye opening.
At this moment, you are deep in the forest; you don’t have a map, or a compass. There is no trail around you. But you have no fear: your intuition knows the way.
Slowly you begin to walk, knowing, feeling your way through the thicket of bushes and trees. You know exactly where you’re going.
Forest and Creative Painting Journey
After a little while walking, you come upon a large stone that is just the right height to sit and rest. As you do, you look around and start to notice the many details of all the plants around you: the texture of green ferns, the multicolored broad leaves of nearby shrubs, plants with tiny leaves, others with large leaves, plants with small white flowers, others with larger blooming beauties.
As you relax and gaze at all the verdant beauty around you, for the first time, you notice that each plant has an energy. An aura. Everything has a slightly different color, but the color sparkles – just a bit – around the body of each plant.
You see how the colors join and interconnect. Butterflies and caterpillars have their own energy. Then you see it with the birds. Even the rock upon which you sit has an energy. Everything gives off light.
As you turn around and look behind you, an easel with a small canvas captures your attention. You breathe. And know what to do.
With your inner knowing, you walk over, pick up the palette of paint and grab the brush. You put the first strokes onto the canvas, then more in other colors as you illustrate the forest around you. You’ve let go of any judgement of how this scene will turn out. You already know that it’s exactly what you need to be doing in this moment and that it will turn out exactly the way it needs to.
Time is non-existent in this space. This painting takes you a second, or eons to complete. A few moments, or an eternity. In this dimension, the painting is only finished when you feel it to be so.
With each stroke of the brush, you feel yourself breathing in, sending the energy of your breath right up to your forehead, to your third eye. The creative process fuels the indigo light.
As you finish the painting, the indigo light around your forehead is the size of a walnut, blue, bright and steadfast.
Breathe into this light and watch it grow.
It gets bigger…
And bigger…
Now this blue light envelops you, protecting you and enveloping the painting you have so delicately created.
Breathe. You pick the painting up to bring with you on your journey through the forest and put it safely in your knapsack.
You are protected with this blue light around you, even though you’re not familiar with your surroundings. Fearlessly you walk, one foot in front of the other.
You breathe as you walk, energized by the blue light surrounding you, illuminating the forest with a tint of indigo.
Breathing steadily, you keep walking, thousands of steps are already behind you.
Walking, breathing.
Walking, breathing.
You emerge at the forest edge and smile.
In the distance, you see a cabin and recognize it as home: your sanctuary. The place where you feel safe, loved, supported. Warm, glowing windows invite you closer and you see smoke coming from the chimney: a crackling fire awaits.
You’re still a ways away from the cabin and as you walk toward it, clouds gather in the sky, and over the large meadow where you’re traveling. Within minutes, the clouds open up, releasing a steady, gentle rain. The drops feel cold against your skin. But you don’t mind: their cool temperature cleanses your body after your journey in the forest.
Your clothes become damp and droplets hang from your eyebrows and eyelashes. Soon the water soaks through your shirt. The coolness energizes you like a cold shower. You feel relaxed, yet alert and that creativity you experienced as you made your painting is still swirling within you.
Ideas start to come to your mind. Along with the cold water flowing down as you are showered by nature, so too do your creative juices flow. The indigo light surrounding you remains steadfast, holding, protecting.
Getting closer to the cabin, the clouds begin to clear. A double rainbow appears, with your cabin at the end of the primary rainbow. A symbol of transformation and good fortune, the double rainbow displays deep colors. New spiritual connections are in your destiny and you walk to a future of hope.
Arriving at your cabin, a towel with a hood hangs by the door as you step in. Wrapping the towel around you to dry off, you cover your head with the hooded part. A rocking chair sits by the hearth and calls you over to where you can warm up from the chilly rain and continue to dry.
Above the fire along the mantel, there’s a perfect spot open for your painting. Setting it up there, you’re reminded of your beautiful journey in the woods. And now, you sit, clean, refreshed, relaxed and mindful. You’ve gone from creativity, to movement, to warmth and rest.
You rock back and forth for a few moments and close your eyes. The blue light still shines around you. As you breathe, beautiful words of affirmation enter your mind.
