Goal
Before helping with the design of the wearables assets and lunch of the wearables, I had already helped to populate the backend of the HUSO On The Go App with hundreds of images sourced from Canva, Adobe Stock, and Unsplash that were consistent with program offerings. I’d also sourced hundreds of quotes to go with inspirational images. This stage of the project required creating physical assets for the launch of the HUSO On The Go Wireless Wearables and App.
Approach
First was to design a label for the pod that would house the wireless wearables themselves in Adobe Illustrator.
The next part of this project involved creating the Quick Start Manual using brand fonts, backgrounds, logos and images. I completed this in Adobe InDesign.
Additionally, the wearables and pod needed an outer box to protect them. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created the shape of the box with a cut-out hole, the die line where the machine would cut, as well as all graphics, text and images consistent with the brand. Working closely with HUSO’s co-founder, we determined what image and languaging would work on the box. I also created a QR code that would take mobile users directly to the website.
After completing this design portion of the product launch, I began creating a unique iPhone card. I designed this in Adobe Illustrator to be the size of a real iPhone but would act as a promotional document to hand out at live events. This card contains relevant information for the HUSO On The Go App and Wireless Wearables.
Moreover, for live events, updated banners and other branded items became a necessity. Using Photoshop, I created a desktop banner using similar branded images and text as other launch assets, as well as a large banner. I also designed a branded tablecloth to achieve a sleek look for HUSO.
Once the physical design aspects were complete, I set out to repeat those same branded elements on a newly designed web page that would feature the wearables. It’s a long webpage with many design aspects. This involved using Photoshop, Illustrator and Canva to ensure images had transparent backgrounds where necessary, graphics that contained visual instructions, photographing the wearables to use as product images with my DSLR, building out the webpage using Beaver Builder page builder, creating tables and using different principles of web design to make the page come to life. Equally important was ensuring that the webpage was optimized for the mobile experience. I also had lots of input from HUSO’s co-founder to ensure everything was on-brand and executed in such a way that she felt it was very representative of the HUSO brand.
After these assets were ready, working with the CEO and Co-founder, we developed a social media and marketing strategy to launch the wearables. I created social media graphics using Adobe Express as well as Canva. Additionally, I created three marketing videos after filming testimonials, current users of HUSO, as well as a long “what’s in the box” video to also convey instructions on how to download and use the HUSO On The Go App.
Results
This project was one of the most rewarding and comprehensive in terms of the level of skill needed, the tools, time, and scope. We launched the iOS version of HUSO On The Go in February 2023 and the Android version in October 2023.

HUSO Home Page and wearables
The image above features different parts of the wearables web page I designed. On the right is the splash screen for the wearable, and a library screen. The background images for each program are from images I sourced to match each program theme.
Finally, the wearables seen here were taken with my DSLR. I edited the image to show that the wearables were “on” in Photoshop (otherwise the illuminated green light was difficult to see clearly).
Mobile Optimization and Assets
Above left includes a sampling of the mobile version pages I created in Adobe Photoshop: they are all different parts of the wearables page. On the right is the travel case that house the wearables. I designed the label (with the logo and name) in Adobe Indesign. Next to it is the outer box sleeve. I created this in Adobe Illustrator, along with die lines to “teach” the print machine where to make the cuts to have a viewing hole in the top left of the box. Bottom right is the thumbnail cover for the marketing video I created of the wearables and an interview with National Biking Champion, Liam Flanagan.
Social Media and Additional Assets
This image shows one of the social media assets I created as we launched the wearables. I used Adobe Express for that asset. The middle image is the box I designed in “real life.” The right image is a large banner design I created for trade shows that HUSO representatives would attend. I designed the banner in Adobe Photoshop.
