Abundance Cottages

Abundance Cottages needed a standalone website apart from other hosting websites they used. They were looking for the power to have people book an overnight stay directly through the Abundance Cottages website and not have to go through third-party services.

Goal

Abundance Cottages needed to create a website to manage their short-term rental hosting and booking. They also needed a logo and branding kit.

Approach

The first order of business was to create a logo in Adobe Illustrator. I used the colors that Sharlette & Zack chose, as well as their desired fonts. After some different iterations, we arrived at a logo they really liked.

From there, I guided them through choosing a website host, and began building the website in WordPress, using the Divi webpage builder.

I resized photos Sharlette & Zack provided to fit to the image spaces and make them web-ready. In addition, I created background graphics and added colors that reflected their logo.

All in all, the project entailed five pages, with some specialized plugins that will facilitate easy booking from clients and guests.

Results

At the end of the project, the website was fully live and ready to accept bookings.

The image above shows the branding kit and logo I created. I included different logo variations for use in various applications, such as letterhead, backgrounds, when only the “type” is needed, print versions in black and white, etc. I also made sure to include branding colors, HEX codes, RGB and CMYK information.
